The Sambodromo Samba Parade rehearsals take place on the samba run-way itself. They start in November and there are a few almost every weekend.

Go and watch them for free. You can try most Grand Stand sectors. It is a good opportunity to warm yourself up for the great party that will develop during the actual Samba Parade and see it all in preparations.

The very last rehearsal is the most spectacular one with the lights and sound system already in place to test them.

After every Sunday rehearsal, the free-for-all party continues with live samba music on the samba run-way. Go, join in, dance and live Carnival!

Outside the Sambodromo there is an eating area (of Brazilian style, do not expect any sophistication) which includes little drink and barbecue stands. Lots of booze and cheap food. The essence of Brazilian life.

There are also rehearsals in the samba schools' halls every week.

The Samba Parade rehearsals in the Sambodromo are a bit like the Samba Parade itself, without costumes or floats (their places are usually taken by busses). They have also less spectators.
